چکیده

Films of thickness 3 mm containing nanosized metal particles of iron, nickel and copper respectively were grown on a Corning glass slide using a sol-gel technique. The particle sizes had values in the range 6.8 to 20.1 nm. Optical absorption characteristics of different specimens were studied over the wavelength range 230 to 830 nm. An absorption maximum was observed at wavelength varying from 270 to 300 nm depending on the nanocomposite system. The data were analysed on the basis of effective medium theories viz., Maxwell-Garnett (MG) and Bruggemann (BR) models respectively. MG model showed better agreement with experimental results than BR theory. The volume fraction as estimated from the least square fitting procedure was found to be in the range 2 to 3%. Rapid Synthesis of Nanostructured Pure Anatase TiO2 with High Thermal Stability by Polymeric Sol-Gel Route

The nanostructured anatase TiO2 with high thermal stability was prepared by polymeric sol-gel method without any additives. The particle size distribution of polymeric titania sol was determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS). Then properties of obtained titania were investigated by TG-DTA, XRD, FESEM and TEM. Also, the decolorization capability of resultant anatase was evaluated using methy...

Preparation and Characterization of ZrO2/TiO2 Nanocomposite under Ultrasonic Irradiation by Sol-gel Route

TiO2/ZrO2 nanocomposite was obtained by the sonochemical technique. In this method, two separate gels containing zirconium and titanium were prepared and mixed together. The precursor sol of zirconium was prepared from an aqueous solution of ZrCl4. The precursor titanium tetra isopropoxide (TTIP) dissolved in isopropanol. Mixing of Titanium and Zirconium gels was resulted in a yellow TiO2/ZrO2 ...

PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF TiO2 Fe2O3 NANOCOMPOSITE BY SOL GEL METHOD

Nanocomposites have improved aspect ratio and better mechanical properties when compared to the composites which had structures less than 100nm They are 1000 times tougher compared to conventional composites. Besides mechanical properties, nanocomposites also have improved electrical conductivity, thermal stability, chemically resistant, flame retardant and low permeability. TiO2 finds its best...
